WGC-HSBC Champions experts' picks: Each week of the season, our experts share their insights into which players fit the criteria for our four categories: Horse for the Course (a golfer who knows the track inside and out), Birdie Buster (a guy who could take it low this week), Super Sleeper (a player who could unexpectedly contend) and Winner.

This week's tournament: WGC-HSBC Champions at Sheshan International Golf Club in Shanghai, China.

Horse for the Course
Michael Collins, ESPN.com senior golf analyst: Phil Mickelson
He won on this course in 2009, finished runner-up last year (on a different track) in this event, and last week said he was hitting it terrible. That means this week he'll finish in the top 10 and we'll all try to act like we saw it coming.

Farrell Evans, senior golf writer: Martin Kaymer
In 2011, the former PGA champion had a final-round 63, including a back-nine 29, to overcome a 5-shot deficit and win this event by 3 shots over Fredrik Jacobson at the Sheshan International Golf Club.

Bob Harig, senior golf writer: Phil Mickelson
Lefty didn't have the greatest week in Malaysia, but he does like the Sheshan International course. He has won this tournament twice, once prior to it becoming a World Golf Championship event.

Kevin Maguire, Senior golf editor: Lee Westwood
In four career starts at the HSBC-Champions event, Westwood has never finished lower than T-13. That run includes a second-place finish back in 2010 when the event was held at Sheshan International Golf Club, host of the 2013 edition of the tournament.

2013 WGC – HSBC Champions Preview: Leaderboard: DEFENDING champion Ian Poulter will face a strong International field when the 2013 US$8.5 million World Golf Championships – HSBC Champions gets underway in China on Thursday.
This is the fifth running of the event and all four past champions will be present as part of the 78 golfer field at the Sheshan International Golf Club near Shanghai.

The other former winners are a resurgent Phil Mickelson, Martin Kaymer and Italy’s Francesco Molinari.
The event is jointly sanctioned by the US PGA TOUR and the European Tour.

As part of the US tour’s new wraparound 2013/14 season the victor will not only pocket the substantial winner’s check but also up for grabs are 550 FedExCup points (a 10-percent bump from the usual spoil of non-majors), a three-year exemption on the PGA TOUR and an array of other invitations, including to the US Masters.

For the Europeans there are critical Race to Dubai issues involved, with Henrik Stenson hoping to put a greater gap between he and the chasing pack.
Stenson is looking for a win to secure an historic FedEx Cup/Race to Dubai double.
Other notables in the field include the still struggling former world number one Rory McIlroy, Graeme McDowell, Sergio Garcia, Justin Rose, Ernie Els, Lee Westwood, Keegan Bradley, Jason Dufner and Brandt Snedeker.

There’s also Henrik Stenson, looking for a win to secure a historic FedEx Cup/Race to Dubai double.
Aussies taking part are Brett Rumford, Scott Hend, and Daniel Popovic.
